Are you Ready for BAC 2017?

By On

There’s less than a week until the 2017 Berlin Affiliate Conference (BAC) gets underway. The event, which will be held at the city’s Messe venue, is expected to attract over 3,000 affiliates, iGaming operators and financial trading brokers.

With such a large presence from the worlds of iGaming, forex and affiliate marketing expected, it’s important to prepare accordingly. Here we give our tips on how to get the most out of BAC 2017.

Tip #1: Ensure You’ve Booked All Meetings In Advance

Identifying what you hope to get out of the conference in advance is the most important factor in determining whether or not you’ll maximise your time at the event. We advise you to double-check you’ve booked all your meetings and mapped out your daily schedule before you head to Berlin.

Don’t be shy to reach out and schedule meetings with conference speakers. Their expertise provides valuable insight into affiliate marketing, how it’s evolved since they began their careers and the direction it’s heading. Along with meeting new faces, you should also catch up with people you haven’t interacted with for a while.

Tip #2: Do Your Background Research

Before you head to Berlin, make sure you’ve done as much research as possible on the delegates you’ve scheduled meetings with. Doing so will not only give you some context, but also make your discussions more productive.

You should also ensure you’re really up-to-date with what’s going on in iGaming, forex and affiliate marketing. Along with reading the big industry publications, such as iGaming Business, iGB Affiliate, and eGaming Review, spend some quality time this week and weekend visiting the large online affiliate forums such as GPWA.

Tip #3: Network As Much As Possible

There’s no better time to expand your professional network than at conferences such as BAC 2017. As well as arranging as many meetings as possible beforehand, we recommend attending the welcome drinks and unwind session on the Wednesday and Sunday – where you can meet fellow professionals in a more relaxed setting.

You can have a bit of fun with networking by setting your own targets, such as collecting a certain number of business cards or visiting as many exhibition stands as possible. Keep in-touch with your new contacts after the conference too by connecting with them on LinkedIn and other social media, as well as exchanging business cards and contact numbers.

Tip #4: Check Out the Sessions & Panel Discussions

Alongside the wide array of exhibition stands, attend the panel discussions held on the Thursday and Friday. These sessions are led by successful industry leaders, with years of affiliate marketing experience.

Try to participate and drive forward the conversation at the sessions you attend. Be sure to jot down some questions for the Q&A session at the end. Make sure you check the full session schedule now on iGB Affiliate so that don’t miss out on any useful panel discussions, and can also find out what you should expect from them content-wise.With these four tips in mind, we hope you have a productive time in Berlin – and also see you there! We’ll be exhibiting at Booth A50 of BAC. In Berlin and want to schedule a last-minute meeting with our team? Please don’t hesitate to reach out.
