Rocelle shares her experiences as an Affiliate Marketing Coordinator

What is it like working with a brand like The Tote, which is highly recognized in its market of Ireland?

Working with a well-known brand within its market definitely has its advantages. Promoters in the UK market recognise The Tote Betting brand, which makes it easier to recruit. Affiliates like partnering with brands they are familiar with, so it does make the task of getting people on board and even negotiating, somewhat easier.

It’s also great because even affiliates based in other markets, who aren’t acquainted with the brand itself, are at least familiar with the type of betting offered on the site. When people know and understand the product being proposed to them, it makes it a whole lot easier to sell them on the idea of working with it.

Describe a typical “day in the life” as an Affiliate Marketing Coordinator.

The first thing I do when I arrive in the office is check my emails and Skype messages. Once I have gone through all my messages and responded to any urgent inquiries, I then head to the kitchen to grab a cup of coffee and whip up a quick breakfast. Now I am really ready to get my day started.

Then I’ll go through my clients’ programmes to check and analyse their stats. Based on the emails I have received and the analysis of my clients, I then fill my desktop with Sticky Notes with what needs to be achieved and I’ll go about the rest of my day based on this.

What is the most important lesson you have learned in your first seven months at Income Access?

The number one lesson I have learned so far, is the importance of transparency and how big of a role it plays in work relationships. When dealing with colleagues, clients and affiliates, it is key to always be upfront and honest about things – even mistakes. I have learned that this helps develop trust quickly and it’s a key factor in establishing meaningful relationships.

You like travelling. Tell us a bit about your travels to date and how you decide on the places you want to visit.

I have gone to all kinds of places such as the Philippines, France, Italy, Mexico and throughout the United States. Greece is next on my list and I plan on going sometime next year. I love experiencing the different cultures and customs from around the world and I like visiting the less “traditional” vacation destinations. There isn’t a single place in the world that I wouldn’t like to get the chance to travel to. Generally, I get travel inspiration from YouTube videos and social media accounts.

On a typical weekend, what can we see you doing?

I love going out to eat! I’m a big foodie, so I’m really into trying new restaurants from all kinds of ethnicities. If you’re looking for a recommendation for somewhere to eat in Montreal, I’m your girl! I also love spending time with my friends and having board game nights or enjoying a night on the town. On a typical weekend afternoon, you can also probably catch me cheering for my favourite Premier League team, Arsenal.
