At Income Access and our parent company Paysafe we’re privileged to have many strong leaders within our ranks, and we feel proud that our General Manager Tara Wilson’s work has seen her short-listed for Canadian Business Chicks’ ‘Women of Inspiration’ awards in Calgary on 20th September.
Tara joined Income Access last October. She has over 15 years’ expertise in operational leadership within payments and marketing, along with almost two decades of experience in the tech space. Tara has played an integral part of our success in 2018.
Tara grew up in Peterborough, Ontario. After moving to Montreal and spending over a decade at other fintech companies elsewhere in the city, she became Vice President of Operations (Canada & UK) at Paysafe (then Optimal Payments) in 2015 before her move over to Income Access late last year.
In her role as General Manager, Tara oversees every aspect of our company and its development. This ranges from our internal processes to our global client base and includes budgeting and driving revenue earnings.
So how does Tara measure her personal success?
“At a more granular level,” she says, “I think the strongest evidence of what I have accomplished over the course of my career is expressed through the people I have managed. After all, as a manager and a leader, I’m only successful if my employees are thriving.”
Adds Tara, “Every time I get a message from a previous employee letting me know that I changed their career path and helped them find their own success, it makes every 70-hour week and working weekend worth it.”
About the ‘Women of Inspiration’ Awards
The ‘Women of Inspiration’ awards ceremony celebrates women who are making an impact in the world of business in Canada, as well as their local communities. It was set up by Canadian Business Chicks, a community of passionate businesswomen from across the country. This year’s ceremony, which is the first-ever, will be held at the TELUS Convention Centre in Calgary.
