Background: I was born and raised in Montreal where we’re located and graduated from John Molson School of Business (JMSB) where I earned a major in Marketing and a minor in Human Resources. During this time, I worked as a Content Specialist, Social Media Coordinator, and as a Project Coordinator.
Melina Shares Her Experience at IA
You’ve been with Income Access for nearly two years now! What’s been the biggest surprise over your time here?
Time flies! I can’t believe it’s been almost two years since I’ve joined the Income Access team. I would say the biggest surprise for me has been how diverse each day can be. Although I have my main tasks and responsibilities, I truly never know what to expect on a day-to-day basis, as there are constantly new projects and affiliate requests. This is actually one of the many things that makes this role so interesting!
What’s one skill you’ve improved on ever since becoming an affiliate coordinator?
It’s difficult to pick just one but I’d definitely say I’ve improved my communication skills since joining Income Access. As an affiliate marketing coordinator, I am constantly in contact with affiliates and clients, which means I must be able to communicate with them effectively both verbally and written. It’s also crucial for me to develop and maintain strong relationships with my affiliates and I believe good communication skills is key for this ?.
You have experience launching an affiliate program with a client. What are some suggestions you’d give an affiliate Marketing coordinator who’s about to launch a new affiliate program?
Launching an affiliate program is always exciting! There’s definitely a lot of work that goes into launching a new program, but it is always rewarding in the end.
My top recommendations for other affiliate marketing coordinators would be to create a launch plan and strategy. This helps to better understand the market they are entering and sets expectations for the launch. In addition, it allows you, the affiliate coordinator, to better develop a strategy that is suitable for the brand you are launching. Since iGaming is an ever-changing industry, it is important to research the latest industry news to ensure that you will be competitive upon entering the market.

Are there any fun facts about yourself that you would like to share?
I learn song lyrics very easily! Ever since I’ve been small, I have been able to learn song lyrics by just listening to a song two or three times. Sadly, I don’t have a good singing voice ☹.
What does a typical weekend look like for you?
My weekends are typically busy as I like to make the most of them. Although they vary, I’ll usually spend my time swimming during the summer (I’m a huge beach/pool lover – I can spend hours in the water), trying new restaurants, and spending time with my family and friends.
Food: Hard to pick just one, I’d say my top three are: pizza, sushi, and tacos.
Movie: The Devil Wears Prada
Sport: Hockey to watch and Tennis to play
Musical Artist: Rihanna
