With our latest Meet the IA Team post, we are featuring our Senior Affiliate Marketing Coordinator, Jonathan Chirico. With this interview, Jonathan gave tips to aspiring affiliate manager and broke down what he's most excited about in the industry.

Background: I grew up in Montreal becoming a massive sports fan in the process. Through my schooling, I became fascinated with marketing and graduated from the John Molson School of Business (JMSB) in Marketing. While there, I got to participate in a few internships that allowed me to learn about marketing in different industries. After graduating, my passion for sports and marketing came together as I joined Paysafe/Income Access as an Affiliate Marketing Coordinator in the iGaming industry.
Jonathan Shares His Experience at IA
Congratulations on your recent promotion to Senior Affiliate Marketing Coordinator! What are your aspirations as you continue to grow in this role?
Honestly, working in online marketing, there’s always more to learn. Over my time with IA, I’ve seen new technology, exciting trends emerge, and markets develop. I’ve already had the chance to learn a lot in my role, but my main goal is to continue soaking up as much information as I can, while continuing to connect with so many great people in the space like I had the pleasure doing in person this past year at SBC North America and continuing to become a better Senior Affiliate Marketing Coordinator in the process.
What’s the best advice you could give to someone who’s starting out as an affiliate manager?
Affiliates respond best to affiliate managers who are reliable, communicative and open. In my experience with affiliates, if you work closely with your points of contact and do your best to answer them in a timely fashion, it’ll lead to a mutually beneficial partnership. Simply, if you’re there for your affiliate partners when they need you, they’ll likely pay that forward when you need their help.
I also suggest being open to their feedback and suggestions. Affiliates have a lot of insight on the industry, so listening to their ideas and working with clients can lead to a lot of positive gains for both sides.
IA is lucky to be able to work with a variety of exciting brands in the iGaming space. What stands out about the brands you work with?
Working with these large brands has given me the chance to really develop my analytical skills, allowing me to look at things from a performance perspective to see how certain campaigns are running and figuring out how to optimize them.
I also have clients who work in the sports space, so getting to work with these brands has given me the ability to combine my passion of sports and marketing, to help drive forward new ideas with my clients.
Are there any fun facts about yourself that you would like to share?
As I’ve mentioned throughout here, I’m a big sports fan and it’s been like that since I was young. I’ve always wanted to try out new sports, whether that’s contact sports like football or rugby, more casual ones like ultimate frisbee, or common ones in Canada like hockey and soccer.
Unfortunately, despite all my passion for sports, there are a couple of I really struggle with. Despite being considered somewhat easier sports, I’ve always been awful at bowling and pool… and this isn’t a hustle to try and beat anyone at those games later!
What does a typical weekend look like for you?
Did I mention I like sports? Well, my weekend normally consists of trying to soak up as many sporting events as possible, particularly when it comes to hockey, soccer and F1. I’ll spend some time playing video games, watching some TV and spending time with family and friends as well.

Musical Artist: I don’t have a specific one, but I mostly listen to hip hop
