Operators are expanding into emerging markets and looking to partner with affiliates who have traffic in these regions.

Latin America, Spain, Africa and India featured in a number of discussions. Many operators and affiliates feel that they have discovered as much as they can in Europe, so the trend is moving towards trying to acquire more players from all corners of the planet.”

The consolidation of affiliates was a big talking point. There has been a big shift in the number of large media agencies and affiliate groups buying up domains and other affiliates in the past 12 months.

Increasing mobile penetration was also on the lips of many, as were different product innovations that operators and affiliates were taking a close look at – virtual reality in particular was a hot topic.”

“This year’s venue was different – LAC moved to the ExCeL Centre, having been held at Olympia in the past. The need for a bigger showroom suggests that the affiliate industry is still expanding at a rapid rate.
